Climate, Water and Vulnerability

The Cluster Group aims to increase awareness about sustainable solutions in the water sector, as well as the type and extent of appropriate adaptation strategies that are needed in a changing climate.

The Cluster Group advocates four key messages in all our work: 

• Climate change will significantly influence water resources in all parts of the globe.  
• Robust adaptation strategies will be needed in many countries to meet this challenge.  
• Positive examples of sustainable adaptation strategies need to be promoted and disseminated according to local conditions.
• Extensive financial contributions are already required to meet current demands of climate variability - adaptation to climate change will require even more.

The Group held regular discussions, arranged seminars at the World Water Week in Stockholm and Almedalen, and published a policy paper in 2009.
